I found myself in Tulum
*e-sigh*
whew. where do I begin?
well, let’s start here… I’m thankful for Tulum. The beach town in Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula that gained popularity over the pandemic truly stole my heart.
And, believe it or not, changed my life.
You see, solo travel isn’t new to me. But this trip felt so different than the others. And it came at a time when I was in dire need of a reset. Dare I say, a cleansing… a washing away of the old me that had, indeed, served me well-ish for the 40 years prior.
But, it wasn’t serving me anymore.
I was entering a new era, professionally, spiritually, and physically, and Tulum was vital in me ushering it all in.
I didn’t intend for the trip to be so monumental. I also wasn’t supposed to be solo .
Me and my girls were originally going together to celebrate our dear friend’s birthday and Cinco de Mayo (because where else would you want to be on May 5)?! But, I had to arrive a few days after them because of work, so only got one full day to enjoy the birthday festivities. We did the ‘pop bottles at Taboo Beach’ thing and then dinner at a beautiful restaurant near my AirBnB. Then, they left and I was alone for the rest of the trip.
Lord knows I needed that alone time…..
